These artists teach classes in their field of expertise while also working on their own projects. They pass their real world knowledge to their students while providing them with the opportunity to explore new art forms and media.
The program is led by Co-Chairs and VA faculty artists,
Barry Markowitz and Liz Young.

Public funding covers the academic portion of LACHSA's curriculum. The non-profit LACHSA Foundation (previously known as the Art High Foundation) raises funds to support the arts program, including teaching artists' salaries, equipment, classrooms, and supplies. Without the hard work and generosity of donors to the Foundation, LACHSA would not exist.
